Behind the Scenes: Major Residential Landscape Design Project Using Dog Grass

We’re thrilled to share a sneak peek into a jaw-dropping residential landscape design project currently underway in Carlsbad, New Mexico — and it’s one for the books!

Huge shoutout to Hugo and the talented crew at HM Pools & Landscape for giving us a mid-project glimpse into this incredible lawn transformation. With over 12,000 square feet of premium turf going in, this job is big, bold, and built for some very lucky pups.

What Makes This Project Special?

This isn’t just any backyard makeover — it’s being designed specifically with multiple dogs -- including several rescue pups -- in mind. From comfort to cleanliness to heat reduction and special infill sand, every material was chosen with performance, durability and pet safety in mind.

What type of artificial turf and materials were used in this project?

Here's  what was used:

• Turf Paradise 112, premium artificial grass in AZ
• 8 full turf rolls used (15' x 100')
• 12,000 square feet of turf
• Envirofill sand (designed for minimizing odors / bacterial for dogs & pets)
• Hydrochill sand (designed to cool down turf when you water it)
  3.25" sinker nails
• Landscape design project location: Carlsbad, NM
